Carrie Fisher has one,Indonesia last ride to take in a galaxy far, far away and her big screen bro, Mark Hamill, is just as broken up about it as the rest of us.
Star Wars fans the world over greeted Friday's news that Fisher would have a role in Episode IXwith wistful excitement. We're all jazzed to see Leia Organa one last time, but many fans are also still coming to terms with Fisher's unexpected death at the tail end of 2016.
SEE ALSO: 'Star Wars' fans are already crying over seeing their princess one last timeThe announcement of her posthumous participation in Episode IXset off an outpouring of love and appreciation from fans on social media. Good cries were had on Friday and Saturday.
Then, Hamill came along on Sunday and kicked open the waterworks again. In a touching tweet, he describes the "bittersweet" feeling of tackling a new, and likely his final, Star Wars movie without Fisher.
"She is simply irreplaceable," he wrote.

Like the rest of us, Hamill appreciates that no efforts will be made to replace Fisher. Instead of recasting the role or employing high-tech CGI, Episode IXwill serve up previously unseen Leia moments driven by the actor that has always brought her to life.
Like Hamill himself, Fisher will get to complete her role in the Skywalker Saga all by herself. She no doubt would have approved.
