CHARLOTTE,Passion's Peak (2002) North Carolina -- Protests against police brutality have rolled through Charlotte, North Carolina, since a black resident of the city named Keith Scott was fatally shot by an officer on Tuesday.

Police maintain Scott had a gun at the time he was killed, while relatives and demonstrators say Scott had only a book.
