The Covet: Island of DesireMondo art house always brings out the big guns for annual San Diego Comic Con gatherings, and 2019 is no exception.
This one's for the Metal Gear Solidfans. Or really, these two. In addition to a poster featuring the artwork of Sachin Teng, there's a first-time-on-vinyl soundtrack release for the 1998 PlayStation game, with some sharp-looking packaging that's exclusive to SDCC.
The 18x24 poster, cast primarily in red, white, and gray hues, riffs on Metal Gear Solid's final showdown between Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. The limited run of 225 printings will only be available at Mondo's booth at the show (until it's sold out), for $50.
Look at this gorgeous thing.
The soundtrack splits up across two LPs, with a limited run of 1,000 available exclusively at the show for $35. That version, the "Gray Fox Edition," is housed inside a gatefold jacket with a close-up of Gray Fox's iconic helmet embossed on the cover. The vinyl artwork was created by Randy Ortiz.
There's a standard edition of the vinyl soundtrack release coming to Mondo's website as well as record stores later in the summer. That version will feature Solid Snake on the cover; you can see it in the image up top, the green-hued art situated between the two discs.
San Diego Comic Con kicks off in California on Thursday, July 18, and runs through Sunday, July 21.
