Nothing says "Mother, oriental eroticism I love you" like a $11.99 box of chocolates from a drug store. Or maybe some flowers. Or even a teddy bear holding a heart.
Vice President Mike Pence was reportedly spotted at a CVS in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday evening. While that normally would be no big deal, today is Valentine's Day, and Pence apparently bought a love-themed gift, presumably for his wife, who he calls Mother.
White House reporter Jacqueline Alemany tweeted that she saw Pence exit the CVS on 19th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, which is just a few short blocks from the White House and the Vice President's Ceremonial Office.
"Spectators say he purchased a Valentine's Day gift for his wife," Alemany wrote.

Though Alemany would not reveal exactly what the gift for Mother was, we can promise it was not very thoughtful or original. After all, this is the store I made my real mother buy my 5th grade girlfriend a Valentine's Day gift.
One Twitter user said they personally saw Pence buying flowers.

Some people would consider this a sign that the VP was hard at work and didn't properly allot time to get Mother a gift. Maybe the couple doesn't take the Hallmark holiday very seriously, and a small gesture from CVS is plenty, though Pence's annual salary is $230,700.
But spotting Pence buying a last-minute gift from CVS brings a warm feeling to our cold, dead hearts regardless.
