Donald Trump would never make it in the Star Trekuniverse.
The eroticism vs sexualamassed former and current cast and crewmembers of various Trekseries and films have all come together under a single banner: Trek Against Trump.
SEE ALSO: Star Trek at 50: You made me who I amTheir five-week mission? To course-correct a nation that at times has seemed hellbent on electing, in their view, a dangerously unqualified candidate as President of the United States.
Trek Against Trump is a Facebook group that was created as a platform to demonstrate the solidarity of the series cast and crew in their opposition to Trump's bid for president. The list of endorsements spans the entire history of Trek, from the Original Series all the way up to the J.J. Abrams reboot-verse.
"Star Trekhas always offered a positive vision of the future, a vision of hope and optimism, and most importantly, a vision of inclusion, where people of all races are accorded equal respect and dignity, where individual beliefs and lifestyles are respected so long as they pose no threat to others," the group's mission statement reads.
At the bottom of the statement is a long list of e-signatures from virtually any name you can think of with a connection to the Star Trekuniverse. Abrams is there, as are actors, writers and creators from every series and film that followed.
There are a couple of noteworthy absences, including Captain Kirk actor William Shatner. But before you start brandishing pitchforks at the Trekstar, remember: he's Canadian (even if he lives in California).
