We're still basking in the glow of Netflix's Mystery Science Theater 3000revival018 Archives but if you're feeling nostalgic for the old series, Twitch has just the ticket.
The social streaming site will host 38 classic episodes of MTS3Kin a six-day marathon beginning June 26 at 11 a.m. PT and ending July 3 on Shout! Factory TV's new Twitch channel.
Twitch notes that the six-day event is the most extensive collection of MST3Kepisodes ever assembled for a marathon, featuring episodes that originally aired on Comedy Central and Sci-Fi Channel from 1989 to 1997.
“The success of TV marathons on Twitch illustrate how our community thrives on interactive programming, as they connect over memes, nostalgia, and the social experience in chat,” said Ben Vallat, VP of Business Development, Twitch. “Because Mystery Science Theater 3000mirrors the viewing experience on Twitch given that the show is all about people watching other people and making comments, it is right in the wheelhouse of our viewers and should make for a memorable communal event.”
The MST3K event is the latest in a string of TV marathons on Twitch, including Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, The Joy of Paintingwith Bob Ross, Saban’s Power Rangers, and more.
We can promise one thing: IT'S BOLD.
