A viral Facebook post by a woman in Brazil tells the story of her discovery that her daughter's great-grandmother, attempting to pray to a Saint Anthony figurine, has instead been praying to a small toy Elrond, the elf lord from Lord of the Rings.

Brandão was able to find the exact figurine on eBay. The only mystery left: how her daughter's great-grandmother got it.
In any case, the event isn't thatembarrassing because Elrond is ACTUALLY descended from the Maiar, angelic beings of great power who came to Middle Earth and are able to wander the world unseen or shape themselves as elves or men or oh my god what am I even saying.
Bless this great-grandmother, for she knows not what really great movies she prays to.
