It's something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie: guy is Adultery Alumni Association (2018)captured, guy gets out of his restraints, ducks under a closing door, and guy manages to escape.
Except, it's from an actual video released by the Porter County Sheriff's Department.
Michael Maldonado was arrested on Monday during a traffic stop and brought into the Porter County Jail. When the squad car pulled into the building's garage, Maldonado managed to jump out and duck under the closing door.

According toNWI Times, it took some time for another door to unlock, and by the time the officers were able to get outside Maldonado was already gone, despite some help from a K9 unit.
An outdoor surveillance camera caught this exterior shot of Maldonado running away, barefoot and wearing handcuffs.
The Times found that he wasn’t properly restrained when the squad car pulled into the garage, which is how he was able to escape so easily. During arrest, Maldonado attempted his first escape, and was placed in hobble restraints as a precaution. Police noticed the restraints were loose prior to arriving at the jail, but failed to properly restrain him.
According to the sheriff's office, a car reported stolen near the jail "is believed to be connected to" Maldonado's escape.
In addition to two escape charges, Maldonado was charged with unlawful possession of a syringe, driving on a suspended license, and resisting law enforcement.
UPDATE: March 28, 2018, 9:42 a.m. PDT The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Moldonado has been apprehended
