LOS ANGELES -- The Redemption Porn Moviesecond term for Veepis going every bit as well as the first: That's five Emmy campaigns and five wins for Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who has swept the Lead Actress in a Comedy category since the HBO show debuted in 2012.
The Emmy also sets a new record for overall wins in the category -- seven -- which for a year Louis-Dreyfus shared with Candace Bergen and Mary Tyler Moore.
But in accepting the award Sunday night, Louis-Dreyfus had an apology to make:
"I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for the current political climate," Louis-Dreyfus said. "Veephas torn down the wall between comedy and politics. Our show started out as a political satire but it now feels more like a sobering documentary. So I certainly do promise to re-build that wall ... and make Mexico pay for it."

As now-President Selina Meyer, @OfficialJLD has five Best Actress trophies. She'd also previously won the award once each for New Adventures of Old Christine(2006)andSeinfeld (1989).
Louis-Dreyfus beat out Laurie Metcalf (Getting On), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer) and Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie).
Though she couldn't resist cracking a joke, Louis-Dreyfus had a moment of sincere emotion at the end of her speech, dedicating her latest win to her late father.
"Lastly I want to dedicate this to my father, William Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away on Friday," she said, breaking down in tears. "And I'm so glad that he liked Veep, because his opinion was the one that really mattered. Thank you."
