Created by Demetrios Hrysikos on Tuesday and called "Help protect Betty White from 2016," the crowdfunding effort is a humorous response to social media users who are praying the rest of the year goes by without harm befalling the 94-year-old veteran actress and funny lady.

"The idea came to me after news of Carrie Fisher's passing, to try and put a smile back on some people's faces and do some good!" Hrysikos said on the page.

If White finds that plan a bit on the creepy side, Hrysikos says he will just donate the proceeds to Spartanburg Little Theater, a youth theatre company in South Carolina.

At the time of publishing, the GoFundMe page was halfway to achieving its fundraising goal of $2,000.

"I'd like to think that Betty, Carrie, and Bowie would be happy with any proceeds going to that cause, which I assure you it WILL!" he wrote.

"We need new artists to carry the mantel of all the great ones we lost this year so keep sharing and donating to ensure a better 2017 for the arts."
