This makes Coinbase, a U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange, the first company that enables users to make mobile payments with crypto, Coinbase claims.
The new option is live as of today, in the following countries: United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Support in other European countries is coming later this year, Coinbase claims.
The physical Coinbase debit card is accompanied by a mobile app, on both Android and iOS. And while Google Pay support is a nice addition for Android users, Apple Pay still isn't supported.
