JD Logistics has launched its first self-operated overseas warehouse in Japan,Switzerland located in Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, and opened on Christmas Day. The Tokyo No.1 Warehouse, which can store millions of items, is equipped with a range of automation technologies, including robots for storage and sorting, and automated production lines. These systems are expected to improve operational efficiency by more than 100% compared to traditional manual processes, according to JD Logistics. The new warehouse will help the firm streamline cross-border shipping between China, Japan, and South Korea, offering faster, more efficient delivery. The company has stated that it plans to open several more self-operated warehouses in Japan and South Korea over the next two to three years, while also developing international air routes to link multiple countries.
