As Tropical Storm Harvey causes catastrophic floods and ebonytorrential downpours across the Houston area, Apple is stepping up to aid storm relief.
The tech company has teamed with American Red Cross to create an iTunes online store link where users can donate in increments of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or $200. 100 percent of the contributions will be given to American Red Cross to help provide relief efforts for those who were adversely affected by unprecedented storm.
A similar donations page was set up to benefit the Southern Poverty Law Center in the aftermath of the violence in Charlottesville, earlier in August. Unfortunately, iTunes store credit cannot be used to make the donations.
Multiple deaths have been confirmed, along with massive property damage as Harvey continues to impact the Houston metropolitan area. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts the storm could dump record amounts of rainfall in Texas, with some reports suggesting as much as 40 to 50 inches.
