Xbox really brought the hype Thursday with an Inside Xbox livestream premiering a whole bunch of new looks at upcoming games for the Xbox Series X console,My Sinful Valentine XXX including a gameplay reveal for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, reveals of new Dirtand Yakuzagames, and mouthwatering peaks at some exciting new IPs.
Check out the whole livestream here:
If you don't want to watch the whole stream, no problem. We've broken down all the cool and impressive games of the day for your convenience.
The stream opened up with a technically very impressive look at a new IP called Bright Memory Infinite, which looks like an ultra moody mix-up of guns, swords, magic, and cars. It's kind of an "everything plus the kitchen sink" approach, but boy does it look pretty. This game is being developed by FYQD-Studio, and perhaps most impressively, has been developed from the ground up by a single person. Wild.
The Dirtseries appears to be maintaining its dominance as the most beautiful andfun racing games in the industry. This trailer is classic Dirtfun, full of cool rally courses and vivid colors.
We didn't get much about Scornin terms of what to expect with gameplay, but we did get a whole lot of aesthetic. And wow, is this aesthetic absolutely incredible. It feels like a cross between Alienand Diabloand Metroid Primewith a healthy dose of horror. Scornis a first-person shooter/horror game being developed by Ebb Software.
For a moment there I thought Choruswas a sequel to Controlgiven its brutalist surreal aesthetic, but it appears to be something else entirely. It's a sci-fi flying/action game that looks very intense. We have barrel rolls, dog fights, big explosions, and a whole lot of creepiness. Very enticing.
Mixing the abject horror of dead bodies strung up like marionettes and bloodthirsty vampires with the lighthearted music and dancing seen in this trailer, we get a vivid idea of what to expect in this followup to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. There's killing, biting, more killing, more biting, and plenty of black humor abound.
Call of the Seais a bright and colorful adventure/exploration game with a pretty strong feeling of mystery flowing through it. It looks like we'll be making our way around a beautiful island and uncovering a handful of secrets, but then it appears we'll be delving deep into some unknown areas that have a certain Lovecraftian vibe to them. This story-driven puzzler is being developed by Out of the Blue Games.
How many sci-fi dungeon crawlers are there in the world? Not enough. The Ascentis a 2.5D hack-and-slash style game that eschews the fantasy theme that seems to completely permeate this genre, and delivers a drop-dead gorgeous take full of alien life and plenty of action set against a story that takes on labor conditions in what appears to be a hyper-capitalist and hyper-violent future. The game is being developed by Neon Giant.
Back to the creepy side of things, The Mediumis a surreal psychological horror game from Bloober Team, the team that brought us Blair Witch. It is very pretty in a spooky kind of way with some big set pieces and world-bending events that are sure to make heads spin.
Scarlet Nexusis a Bandai Namco game that mixes the time-tested genre of anime-esque hack-and-slash action with some insanely cool designs. The monsters that need to be destroyed look like flower- and plant-based demons, which players will be taking care of with a variety of weapons and abilities, exterminating the threats with style.
What if you took the survival co-op core of Left 4 Deadand replaced the zombies with dinosaurs? You'd get Second Extinction. From the developers at Avalanche Studio's Systemic Reaction, Second Extinctionis a dinosaur-slaughtering mayhem that looks kind of like a cross between Turokand Doom. With big guns and big dinosaurs, this reveal is undeniably beautiful even if you aren't so into turning dinos into bloody pulp.
The Yakuzaseries continues with Like a Dragon, which will be available at launch for the Series X. This game follows Ichi, who took the fall for another yakuza member and is coming back to settle the score. There is plenty of ridiculous action, and scenarios abound that turn this otherwise stone-cold Japanese organized crime game into a wild a colorful ride.
Following up shortly after the game was first revealed by Ubisoft, this gameplay reveal for Assassin's Creed: Valhallashows just how stunning this game is going to look on next-gen consoles. We get a look at combat, sailing, and a bunch of new environments that the Norwegian vikings will be invading across England.
