There's going to be xxx parody moviesa new book set in the Lord of the Ringsuniverse – 45 years after the death of creator J.R.R. Tolkien.

The Fall of Gondolintells one of the earliest stories of Middle-earth, a classic tale of good vs. evil that sets the stage for the rest of the fictional world, The Guardian reported Tuesday. The book, edited by Tolkien's son Christopher Tolkien, is coming out in August.

The new book is described as "the first real story" of Middle-earth — a preface to The Silmarillion. It focuses on Morgoth, the first Dark Lord and basically an embodiment of evil, who is trying to find and destroy the city of Gondolin. The Fall of Gondolinincludes the first instances of orcs and balrogs and even has an appearance from the sea god Ulmo along with dragons and elves.

The Fall of Gondolinis the third major Tolkien book edited and put out by Christopher Tolkien, who is now 93 years old. His editions of Children of Húrin and Beren and Lúthien, both of which take place before The Lord of the Rings.were published in 2007 and 2017.

According to The Guardian, The Fall of Gondolinwas written by Tolkien while he was recovering in the hospital after the Battle of Somme, the largest battle on the Western Front of World War I and one of the bloodiest battles in history.

Likely drawing inspiration from his harrowing experience, The Fall of Gondolincontains one of Tolkien's largest battles narratives outside of The Lord of the Rings.
