On Monday, the company announced a new, AI-powered Photoshop Camera app for iOS and Android. It'll utilize Adobe's Sensei AI platform to apply high-level filters and other effects to photos using just the camera viewfinder.

In other words, Adobe is going to use AI to make your selfies look even more extravagant. You can sign up for a trial period on Adobe's website right now, but Photoshop Camera won't be available to the general public until sometime next year. It's totally free, by the way.

There will be time-limited, branded camera lenses from the likes of Billie Eilish and other "well-known artists and influencers." Using software to bolster mobile photography, rather than relying purely on camera hardware, has been a nice trend in recent years. Both Google and Apple have made big strides in nighttime photography with software processing, for example. Adobe using the tech to make flashy, shareable photos makes sense.

If the examples in Adobe's trailer for the app are anything close to what the final product will churn out, they definitely look better than what you get out of some other photo apps. Of course, it could also be a buggy disaster with way too much influencer branding. Finding out is the fun part.
