American Idolis being revived for a new season -- but temple of eroticismmuch like the many singers who have passed across its stage over the years, it's getting a makeover.

Ben Sherwood, President of Disney-ABC, noted that the show is a perfect fit for the Alphabet's reality roster in a rhapsodic statement. "Idolis an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing with the Starsand The Bachelor. America, get ready for the return of a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Idol."
ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey even managed to throw a little shade at Fox's decision to end the show in 2016 during her statement: “American Idolis a pop-culture staple that left the air too soon. ABC is the right home to reignite the fan base. We are thrilled viewers will once again share in these inspiring stories of people realizing their dreams.”
Judges and a host will be announced at a later date, but it's probably no coincidence that formerIdolhost Ryan Seacrest just officially joined the ABC family thanks to his newly announced job as co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan-- he already has approximately 752 jobs, so adding one more should be a breeze.
