Wonder, you've probably had an itch to go back and play some of the other excellent games in the plumber's Switch catalog, too. While they're all fun, there's one particularly excellent game that everyone can agree scratches that creative itch within us all: Super Mario Maker 2. If you haven't yet experienced the magic, now's a good time to do so as it's back down to its lowest price ever.
As of Oct. 27, Super Mario Maker 2is on sale for $39.99 at Walmart. That's $20 off its usual price of $59.99, and a savings of 42%. This marks the first time the game has been back down at this price since last November at Amazon. This price is for the physical copy, which you'll have to wait to have shipped to you, but if it's in stock at a local Walmart, you could also opt to pick it up at a brick-and-mortar store.
Super Mario Maker 2 is pure, unadulterated Mario at its finest. Mashable reviewer Kellen Beck wanted to "inject it straight into [his] veins," praising it for its ability to "turn players into level designers and testers." And that's exactly what you can do in this game. Create and play your own 2D Mario levels while sprinkling in elements like cat suits, switch blocks, classic Mario enemies, coins, and anything else you can think of. Then share your levels with the world.
If you don't want to make your own content, you can always dive into to 100+ levels Nintendo provided with the game's story mode for an even greater challenge. Trying to beat the levels other creators have painstakingly crafted is another game in itself.
If you want to spread the joy of Mario over the holidays or just want to try your hand at making your own courses, this is the best way to do it.
