Google's upcoming Pixel phone won't look extraordinary021 Archivesthe outside, but it will have plenty of new software tricks. Some of these can be seen in a leaked press render of the device, courtesy of leaker of all things tech, Evan Blass and VentureBeat, which first shared the photo online.
We've already seen alleged live photos of the Pixel, which (alongside a host of other Google gadgets) is coming on Oct. 4, but those photos were blurry, redacted, and showed very little in terms of software.
The new photo (below), gives us a better look at Pixel's own launcher -- detailed by Android Policehere -- with the new, circular icons, as well as the slightly redesigned interface buttons.

The Pixel will reportedly come in two variants. The smaller Pixel X will reportedly have a 5.2-inch or a 5-inch 1080p resolution screen, while the 5.5-inch Pixel XL will have a QuadHD screen. Both phones will reportedly sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chips, 12-megapixel rear cameras, 8-megapixel selfie cams, 4GB of RAM, and storage ranging from 32-128GB (with no memory card).
From what we've seen in leaked images, both Pixels will be pretty tame, design-wise, continuing the tradition of Google's Nexus devices, which aren't very flashy in terms of design. The exact difference (besides the branding) between Google's Nexus line of devices and the Pixels is unclear; the Pixel will reportedly be built by HTC, but Google will have more say in its design. And when the first rumors about a Pixel phone surfaced, it appeared as though Google will keep both the Nexus and Pixel brands; later rumors claim the Nexus will be abandoned in favor of the Pixel.
